INTRODUCTION

Determines whether supplier participation affects the role of procurement planning on performance to investigate how ICT affects the role of procurement planning on performance. To find out how staff competency affects the role of procurement planning on performance and finally to investigate how operational cost affects the role of procurement planning on performance.

This course presents the influence of procurement portfolio management on procurement performance, effects of logistics management on procurement performance and the impacts of adherence to procurement plans on procurement performance on public corporations. It is also found out that there existed a strong relationship between procurement planning and procurement performance, therefore the study concludes that the presence of a procurement portfolio, efficient logistics management and adherence to procurement plans positively affects procurement performance in institutions. The purpose of procurement planning therefore is to be able to utilize the available resources to achieve the overall procurement objectives

Course Objectives:

  • Ensure procurement activities are aligned to the need for the realization of cost reductions contained within the Medium Term Financial Plan
  • To decide what to buy, when and from what sources.
  • Permits the creation of a procurement strategy for procuring each requirement that will be included in the procurement plan.
